History
Although articles and papers covering cutting-edge and informative research are regularly featured in veterinary magazines and journals, the results very rarely reach the trainers, breeders and owners who can implement this information on horses in their care.
The inaugural Thoroughbred and Racing Seminar was founded by Intervet UK Ltd in 2001 to inform delegates of new research results in a practical manner. Supported by the Horserace Betting Levy Board, Cheltenham Racecourse and Dodson and Horrell Ltd from the outset, with the welcome addition in 2005 of Weatherbys GSB the seminar has become a firmly established event and attendance has risen to around 500 delegates.
Today, the conference is directed by organisations with interests in the racing and breeding industries and maintains its original aim of presenting the results of scientific research in a practical way to benefit the welfare of Thoroughbred racing and breeding horses.
